New from Altus: our March 2026 release wrap up

For many organisations, modernising project portfolio management is not about starting again. It is about moving forward without losing the data, history, and context teams rely on every day.

The March 2026 Altus release focuses on exactly that. This update introduces enhanced Project Online migration tooling, deeper Microsoft‑native integration, and more reliable risk analysis, all designed to reduce disruption and give customers greater confidence as they evolve their platform.

Moving from Project Online with confidence

If you’re currently planning or already undertaking a migration off Project Online, one of the most common concerns we see is ‘what happens to years of project data, structure, and historical context during that transition?’.

Altus has released enhanced migration tooling to support a smooth move from Project Online to Altus. This approach is not about rebuilding portfolios from scratch. It is about bringing existing data with you into a modern platform.

Customers can migrate projects, resources, schedules, baselines, risks, issues, documents, and even time‑phased costs. This ensures that delivery history and financial context are retained, rather than lost or recreated manually.

The outcome is continuity. Teams can move forward knowing their data remains complete, accurate, and meaningful.

A Highly Automated Migration Process

Migration projects can quickly become costly and disruptive when they rely heavily on manual effort.

The Project Online migration tooling in Altus is highly automated, reducing the number of manual steps required and ensuring a more consistent process. This minimises rework and lowers the risk of errors that can arise when data is handled repeatedly.

For customers and partners delivering multiple migrations, this approach reduces time, cost, and disruption, while maintaining data quality. For organisations yet to start their migration, Altus also offers a fixed‑price Project Online migration package to support a clearly defined and predictable transition.

Stronger integration with the Microsoft Ecosystem

Altus continues to build on its Microsoft‑native foundation to give customers more control using familiar tools.

Bulk project clean‑up can now be handled using Microsoft’s native capabilities. This makes it easier to remove projects that are no longer required without relying on custom processes or additional administration.

Platform analytics and usage insights are now also available through Dataverse. This gives organisations deeper visibility into how Altus is being used, supporting better governance, adoption tracking, and continuous improvement.

Together, these enhancements help reduce administration effort while improving oversight across the platform.

More reliable risk analysis at scale

As portfolios grow, analysing risk accurately becomes more complex.

Behind the scenes, the Altus Risk Matrix has been enhanced with stronger filtering capability. Multiple filters can now be applied reliably, even in large and complex environments.

For customers, this means risk analysis remains accurate and trustworthy, regardless of portfolio size or complexity. Teams can confidently assess exposure and focus attention where it is needed most.

Looking ahead

The March 2026 release continues a clear theme across Altus updates. It focuses on reducing friction, protecting valuable data, and giving organisations confidence to move forward with their platform and operating model.

Whether you are planning a Project Online migration, looking for deeper insight into platform usage, or managing risk across a large portfolio, these improvements are designed to support practical, real‑world delivery.

As always, customer and partner feedback continues to shape the direction of Altus. To learn more about any of these updates, explore the roadmap on our website or speak with your Altus representative or certified Altus partner.
